I am so sorry for your family's loss.

What a lovely tribute to your father-in-law. I'm sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

So so sorry. Lovely tribute.

I'm thinking of you and sending you my thoughts for you and your family.

This was a beautiful post in a solemn moment.

Lots of love for your whole family from Bossy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your quote at the end made me cry. My mom and daughter both have cancer. Luckily my daughter is doing great and is expected to live a full life. I wanted to let you know when my daughter was first diagnosed, I came across your site and I read the whole thing and it really helped me. You have made me laugh, cry and think deeply. Thank you for that. My thoughts are out for you and your family. Take care of one another.

MD, we just got back from a week vacation and I was thinking about your FIL. I'm so sorry to hear that he passed. What a beautiful tribute you've written to him. I think any FIL would be proud to have you in his family. My deepest condolences on your loss.

Thank you for sharing this, MD. It's truly beautiful. I teared up at the image of your FIL's last kiss. I hope that, one day, someone feels that passionately about me.

MetroDad, I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Beautiful post.

I'm very sorry for your loss. He sounds like an amazing man and the world is smaller and darker without him brightening it.

This post resonates deeply with me, MD. My FIL and my aunt were both recently diagnosed with inoperable and untreatable cancer. They both have very little time left on this earth. I hope to use your example of creating as many memories with them as possible during the short time they have left.

Condolences to all of you, especially BossLady's mom. Sounds like they had a romance for the ages.

Sending much love and sympathy to the entire MetroDad family. So sorry for your loss.

Tears here also while reading this post. My deepest condolences to you and Bosslady.

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news, MD. Having lost my own father to pancreatic cancer last year, I know how hard it must have been on all of you. Take solace in the fact that your FIL is no longer in pain. I know it's not much to hold on to but sometimes it's all we've got.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Your post was beautiful.

MetroDad - Thank you for sharing this... I will be sure to kiss and hug my family tonight.

Oh MD, so sorry to hear this. How lovely that Peanut got a chance to form some personal memories of him. The body moves on but the memories last.

Big Pumpkin

I'm so sorry for your loss. May you all be showered with strength in sailing through this difficult time. And wouldn't it be swell when you all meet again in Heaven.....my prayers are with you and your family, MetroDad.

My condolences to you and your family. I too lost a loved one that same week. My uncle, who is like a second father to me, died from pneumonia and complications due to heart surgery. Reading your post about how wonderful a man your father-in-law was and how he used his last ounce of strength to give his wife a last kiss and hug made my eyes spring with tears. My uncle visited his wife one last time a few hours before he passed to sleep together for the last time and reassure her that he will always be there with her. He battled kidney failure for 20 years and can finally rest with no pain.

I wish you and your family the best during such hard times. It's so hard especially when you are very close to the lost family member. Your father-in-law was truly blessed to have such caring children.

you're all in my thoughts, metropeople. kisses and love. and some hugs, too.

It is a blessing indeed to have such a template for love and, more specifically for you, to be married to someone raised in its afterglow.

May his soul and his capacity for love whistle through the years as you raise another,

Those are truly touching and meaningful words. Your father-in-law will be so happy.

Was just surfing the web and I came across you site and I have to say that I am greatly impressed. Thank-you!

A very touching post. The last act of your father-in-law did move me to tears.

You write beautifully.

I am very sorry for yours and Bosslady's loss.

Fly-fishing has gained a great popularity over the years as a relaxing sport. The thrill of luring the fish, catching it and having it for lunch or dinner or simply the soothing sounds of running water in a stream have made fly fishing an experience to remember, for the young people and the old alike. The fly-fishing experience is complete only if you have the right kind of fishing equipment.

In our world, not only do we have variability, we've got unpredictability.
