MetroDad will be out of town for awhile on business. And since nature abhors a vacuum, I've decided to enlist a guest blogger, Poppa Large, to cover for me while I'm away. Poppa Large is a brand-new father with plenty of hilarious thoughts on pregnancy, childbirth and parenting. And equally important, he's a fantastic writer with an excellent command of language (what? you think I would leave the keys to the car with someone who dangled his participles?)
Anyway...though Poppa Large and I have never formally met, he sent me several e-mails when he found out that his wife was pregnant and we subsequently started up a friendly correspondence. Unlike most men who find my site when their wives become pregnant (by googling "giant pregnancy boobs," "crazy hormonal wife," or "emotional rollercoaster ride"), Poppa Large seemed to actually believe that I had some real parenting advice to offer. HA! Being a relatively new father, I truly don't consider myself an expert in dispensing parenting advice. But since the Peanut was born several months before Poppa Large's own daughter, I can only equate our relationship as being similar to the one where a guy is walking in the forest, falls into a foxhole and yells upwards into the sky, "Watch your step, fellas! I never saw that one coming!"
So, without further ado, please give a warm welcome to Poppa Large!
